About the project

"Tagged on the outside of the trunk is a rare quote by the man himself, Louis Vuitton. 'I have designed a trunk that is entirely free of serious disadvantages,' he writes in 1867 for one of his many successful patent applications. The trunk opens and Louis stands center stage surrounded by his craftsmen and family in his own atelier at Asnières, in the north of Paris. To toast his birthday, he is sporting a purist design by Virgil Abloh from the A/W 2021 collection. One of Louis’ few surviving portraits is paired atop a sharp full length vibrant red coat as he comfortably holds his Keepall work bag. Wearing a Nicolas Ghesquière crystal-studded capelet with trousers from Cruise 2020, Mme. Vuitton accompanies Monsieur in his celebration."
