A black-owned and led research-based design and creative service rooted in contemporary landscapes, essentially questioning design while designing “design”. In the quest to produce output that is aware of its context from a holistic aerial perspective, Alaska’s design approach commences with research, a careful consideration and analysis of connected audiences, contexts, and collaborator, proceeding to dive deeper into subject matter and production processes.

About the project

"'The Contemporary Landscape Trunk' is a showcase of our preoccupation with vocabulary. As we evaluate and re-evaluate the world and all our connected contexts, the boundaries of design, art, and taste are dissipating. Through adjusting the semiotics of the trunk, we were interested in the application and exercise of investing the same time, consideration and resolve to each element through introducing an industrial vocabulary."
