Hannes Peer Architecture is an architecture and design studio that specialises in luxury retail, hospitality and residential spaces, founded in 2009 and based in Milan. The practice is marked by the search for eclecticism in high quality design at all scales through the study of the close relationship between architecture, historical context and new technologies that mediate between craftsmanship and industrial production. The studio’s projects are recognisable by their strong iconographic identity, based on continuous research on colours, materials and the contamination between the various contemporary languages. Peer's eclectic style is a mix of traditional, historical and contemporary; luscious and theatrical, his work carries the stamp of a deeply Italian architectural and decorative research. The most relevant projects as of today includes the apartments in Via Jommelli, the headquarters of the brand No21 in Milan and Seoul, the flagship store for ‘Iceberg’ in Milan, and several residential projects like Maison Prada and Casa Leone.

About the project

The suitcase that has seen the world or: How to be a little more like a travel sticker

"Since I was a child I have been intrigued by travel stickers on suitcases, the variety of their geographic origins, the sheer arbitrariness of their positioning and their peaceful proximity in which they remain during the lifetime of the suitcase they belong to. These wonderful travel–sticker creatures quietly and admiringly accept every newcomer, every new sticky travel companion from all over the world. They are never offended when asked to share a space with others, with open arms they welcome a new clingy friend. Each time they remain in awe of how many new adhesive friends they make on each trip, how many new places they get to see, how many incredible and fantastic architectures they may visit, from the Taj Mahal to Xanadu, from Las Vegas to Asgard, from Paris to Victoria Falls, from the Pyramids of Giza to the Great Wall, from Machu Picchu to the Colosseum. Taking a closer look one can even discover travel stickers with incredible gems of contemporary and utopian architecture that welcome you. Almost anything is possible in the lifetime of a travel sticker, basically it needs to adapt to all situations, be calm and respectful, stick as much as possible to its suitcase and be almost glued to its travel companions. The magic of travel is about to happen again soon, our little friends are bursting with curiosity about the next place to visit and the next friend to welcome."
